First Official Image for Marvels Guardians of the Galaxy

Disney and Marvel have released the first official image for Guardians of the Galaxy. The image shows Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon voiced by Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, and Groot voiced by Vin Diesel.

From the look of things I’m still iffy on GOTG, it’s pretty much The Avengers…in space! But one thing the avengers had going for it and still does, is that we as an audience were able to connect with each of the avengers before they eventual teamed up on the big screen. This is where my concern for GOTG comes in, personally I never heard of GOTG until Marvel/Disney announced they were making a movie and when I heard it was going to be a big team up movie just like The Avengers, minus every character in the team having their own standalone film, I started to question whether or not this was a good idea.

Even with my concerns with the direction of the film, I will be first in line to see GOTG, because even with all the odds stacked against it let’s not forget that this a Disney/Marvel collaboration and so far we have not been treated to a bad film, Iron-Man 2 doesn’t count.

So what are your thoughts? Are you excited for Guardians of the Galaxy or not? Let me know in the comment below.

Most Anticipated Movies of 2014

Into The Woods

Into The Woods is an adaptation of the 1980’s hit Broadway musical of the same name. The film is filled with an all-star cast that includes. Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, Anna Kendrick, Tracey Ullman and Johnny Depp.

Taking a different spin from the popular Grimm fairy tales, Into The Woods tells the story of a couple seeking to reverse a curse placed upon them by a vengeful, misguided witch played by Meryl Streep.

I have been a BIG fan of Streep ever since I saw her in The Rivers Wild and say what you will about Depp, but the man is talented and is enough reason to want to see any film he is involved with. Unlike most of my friends who say that “Fairy tale movies are over played.” and “So last year.” I can’t get enough of them and if Disney is behind a new fairy tale film count me in.

What I’m excited for:

+ More Grimm fairy tales

+ Depp singing…I liked Sweeny Todd

What I’m not excited about:

- It’s a Musical

Big Hero 6

Big6 is going to be Disney/Marvel’s first animated film involving Marvel characters. Big Hero 6 centers around a group of…you guessed it, six superheroes that are based in high-tech city of… (get this) San Fransokyo, a mixture between the iconic cities San Francisco and Tokyo. Big Hero 6’s roster consist of Silver Samurai, 2 Sunfire, GoGo Tomago, Honey Lemon, Hiro Takachiho, Baymax, and Fred. There is no word whether or not Disney/Marvel with use the original lineup for the film.

Do I even have to explain why I’m excited for this film? I have said this before, in terms of comics I fall into the DC side of things but if the question is “Are you more excited to see a DC film or Marvel film?”, I would choose Marvel without hesitation. Their track record is way more glamorous than DC at the moment and I have more confidence in Disney/Marvel than I do Warner Bros./DC.

 What I’m excited for:

+ More Marvel

+ Disney animation

+ Saying San Fransokyo

 Muppets: Most Wanted

Following the huge success of the last Muppets film, the Muppets are at it again in their follow up film Muppets: Most Wanted. Kermit is framed by a master thief look-a-like and placed in jail. This of course leads to all sorts of high jinks only the Muppets can provide.

I love the Muppets, Still can’t get the Muppet Treasure Island soundtrack out of my head. I was so happy when the Muppets comeback in 2011 and like most of the world I could not get enough of the Muppets new movie. After watching the new trailer for the new film I do have to say I’m a little concerned with the film not being that funny. With Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais staring, I’m sure that my doubts will be quickly dissolved.

What I’m excited for:

+ More Beeker

+ Tina Fey as a Russian…just let that sink in

+ Ricky Gervais

What I’m not excited about:

- Does not look as funny as the previous film

We all know the story of Sleeping Beauty and Prince Phillip’s heroic triumph over the evil queen of darkness. Disney’s Maleficent takes a different look on the iconic story and tells it from the “Evil” sorceress’s point of view.

Angelina Jolie…enough said. If you have watched the trailer then you know what I mean, Jolie’s take on the iconic sorceress gives me goose bumps and I can’t wait to see more of it. The effects look great and the world that they have created looks intriguing and did I mention it has Angelina Jolie!?

What I’m excited for:

+ I’ll say it again…Jolie!

+ Live action adaptation of a Disney classic

+ Effects look awesome

What I’m not excited about:

- Rest of the cast dose not seem interesting

Captain America: The Winter Solider

While Cap is adjusting to his new life in the…well future, it looks like a blast from his past is here to ruin his fun. Not much is known about the story for the new Captain America film, but most assume that is will loosely follow the story line introduced in the comics where Bucky and Rogers duke it out!

I liked the first Captain America movie a lot more than other people. It’s not the worst Marvel film I’ve watched…*cough* The Incredible Hulk *cough*. Captain America: The Winter Solider looks way more action packed than its predecessor and the winter solder himself looks awesome.

What I’m excited for:

+ Bucky looks bad!@#

+ Another excuses to see Sam Jackson

+  Cap’s New costume

What I’m not excited about:

- Hope they don’t make Falcon lame *Crosses fingers*

Guardians of the Galaxy

A group of unlikely galactic heroes join forces to save the galaxy! With a Star studded cast consisting of Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Benicio del Toro, Glenn Close, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel just to name a few.

What I’m excited for:

+ Zoe Saldana

+ Avengers in space!

+ A talking raccoon that kills people

What I’m not excited aboy:

- Who are the Guardians of the Galaxy again?

- Chris Pratt?

Those are my most anticipated Disney movies for 2014. I would love to hear what your most anticipated movies are in the comments below. Disney or not let me know.

Thor: The Dark world is not the only place you can get some Asgardian action. In episode 8 of Marvel’s Agents of Shield Agent Grant deals with his dark past and we are introduced to a new Asgardian.

Luke Cage, Dare Devil, Jessica Jones, and Iron-Fist Heading to Netflix!

I’m sure all of you have heard the news about Netflix green lighting 5 Marvel shows, (Luke Cage, Dare Devil, Jessica Jones, and Iron-Fist) which will eventually lead up to a Defenders series. I’m super stocked about this! I mean I have to be honest I knew about Iron-Man and the Hulk when I was a kid, and even watched their cartoons, but I didn’t start really getting into the Marvel-verse until  the first Iron Man way back in 2008.

Out of the four TV series I’m really stocked for Luke Cage! Finally some diversity in the Marvel TV verse. Yeah ,Yeah I know Melinda May is in Agents of SHIELD, but that show is…

So let me know what you guys think? Love the Idea or not sure about?

here is the link where I heard the news.

WOW! Did you guys see the Maleficent Trailer? I peed my pants.
